BFM among top 150 Fee-Only RIAs in AUM

Boston Financial Management has been named an RIA leader of 2021 by AUM, according to business information company Financial Planning. Boston Financial Management was ranked No. 140 by assets under management. At the time of the ranking, the firm had $3.2 billion in assets under management.

The date for this recognition comes from SEC Form ADV filings as of June 2021, as analyzed by Financial Planning’s data collaborator, the compliance consulting firm RIA in a Box. Financial Planning had five-part criteria for the rankings:

  1. Firms must list zero registered representatives of a broker-dealer.
  2. Out of their total clients, the sum of individual and high net worth must be at least 33%.
  3. Firms must not list commissions as a compensation arrangement.
  4. Firms must list at least one financial planning client.
  5. In other business activities, firms may list a trust company, accounting firm, or law firm, but they can’t list a broker-dealer, bank, insurance brokerage, real estate brokerage, or any other types of entities.
