Position: Estate & Financial Planning Associate

BFM is looking to add a highly qualified and enthusiastic Estate & Financial Planning Associate to our growing team. This individual would work with the Director of Estate & Financial Planning and Director of Wealth Management to in overseeing the estate and financial planning needs of our clients. This team member would also work with the Director of Fiduciary Services.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CTFA/CFP preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in the legal/wealth management industry
  • Experience with portfolio management software (i.e. Advent APX/Moxy)
  • Experience working with financial planning software (i.e. Cheshire, eMoney, MoneyGuidePro)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Estate Planning
    • Obtain and scan all estate planning documents for clients
    • Create and maintain inventory of estate planning documents, including beneficiary designation forms, estate planning documents and incapacity documents
    • Create and maintain Family Trees for all EFP clients
    • Create and summarize estate plans for all clients in flowcharts and written summaries
    • Prepare presentation reports for client meetings
  • Financial Planning
    • Prepare and send client questionnaires to clients to gather cash flow information
    • Input cash flow information into financial planning software
    • Prepare presentation reports for client meetings
  • Fiduciary Committee
    • Prepare agendas for weekly Fiduciary Committee meetings and distribute to all members
    • Review incoming trust documents when Boston Fiduciary Services, LLC (“BFS, LLC”) is being asked to serve a corporate trustee.
    • Prepare first draft of Trust Digest and Acceptance forms for review by the Director of Fiduciary Services.
    • Maintain calendar invitations and changes on company calendar for all meetings
    • Review all discretionary distribution request forms to identify any special fiduciary issues.
  • Administrative Duties
    • Provide administrative support to EFP group (drafting letters, making copies and scanning documents into document record system)
    • Maintain group spreadsheets on project queues, meeting logs
    • Maintain notes on client meetings for EFP group on portfolio management software

 

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience. BFM also provides a competitive benefits package including a 401(k) plan.
