In January, BFM welcomed Daphnie Morcy to the team as the firm’s Intern. Daphnie works alongside each department, helping with various projects and learning about wealth management.

We recently sat down with Daphnie to chat a bit further about who she is, and what her interests are:

College Bio:

I’m a Senior at UMass Boston, majoring in Management with a concentration in Finance.

Why did you choose your major?

I wanted to choose something that had some direction to it, and where I could have a career interacting with people and helping them. I also really like math, so finance was the perfect fit!

What are you enjoying most about your internship with BFM?

I am really enjoying the interaction with everyone that works at BFM. Being able to learn about each department and how they all work together to help clients has been really interesting. It’s amazing to talk with the wealth managers and see how they build deep connections with their clients.

Because of COVID, we’ve had to do the internship virtually, but I wish it was in person because everyone I have worked with has made me appreciate the benefits of a smaller firm. You can tell BFM is a place that creates roles to help people progress in their careers and everyone is invested both professionally and personally.

What are some of your favorite hobbies?

I love documentaries. KC King (Wealth Manager) recently recommended A Most Beautiful Thing to me, and it was incredible! I’m also a foodie. One of my favorite things to do is go out to eat and try different restaurants with friends.

What plans do you have for the summer?

I’m going to go to Florida with some friends to celebrate graduation. I also plan on figuring out what I want to do and develop myself professionally.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I like to do rubix cubes! I do one every morning and can complete it in under two minutes.
